Whether you are a college student, recent grad or a lifetime citizen of Baltimore, there are plenty of activities to do around the city. The city is known for many things such as the Inner Harbor, the art around the city, their sports teams and their food.

People may have favorite places to go and things to do, but one thing everybody loves is food. There are many local restaurants that are hot spots throughout the city, and one in particular, Doner Bros, has become a favorite in Charles Village.

Doner Bros is a small chain restaurant specializing in authentic Doner kebabs. The food is a mix of Mediterranean and Halal, offering wraps, bowls and kebabs. The meal is made up of a protein such as chicken, lamb or falafel that lays on top of a bed of rice with an assortment of toppings that takes it to another level.

The restaurant started out as a food truck. The truck drove through and around Baltimore for a few years before they got to open their first location on Saint Paul Street in Charles Village. In a relatively short period, the chain is now looking into more locations in the area, specifically toward Towson and downtown Baltimore.

As a college student living in Baltimore, I look to eat out here and there. Doner Bros has climbed to the top of my list of destinations on where I would go. It falls in line with some of the best high-quality, fast food chain restaurants we have, Chipotle and Five Guys for example.

Doner has not only become one of my favorites, but a student hot spot as well. The chain offers loaded meals that are filling and satisfying at a low price. I spoke with Brendan Fogarty, a student at Loyola University Maryland, about his experience with Doner Bros and why he is a fan.

“Doner bros has quality food for reasonable prices. Every time I go In I wait no more than 10 minutes and will get fresh delicious food each time. It’s one of my top spots to eat around Baltimore,” said Fogarty.

Not only is Doner Bros appealing to students to go and eat, but the establishment is mainly students behind the counter making your food, so if you’re in the market for an off campus job, this is a great opportunity.

Doner Bros is an excellent choice because it is convenient, local and offers high-quality, healthy food all while allowing residents to support a small local business. The restaurant was closed for sometime due to Covid-19 with all of the protocols that have to be followed, but they reopened early in September.

The authentic kebab chain has not looked back since their opening in Charles Village and even hope to exceed what they have already accomplished at the first location.
